Convention

Democrats across the state are telling party leaders and elected officials that Prop 13 reform should be a top priority in 2013. From Orange County in the south to Amador County in the north, 11 Democratic County Central Committees have passed our resolution calling for commercial property to pay its fair share. And we’re just getting started. On April 12 and 13, Evolve activists and organizers will be in Sacramento for the California Democratic Party’s annual convention.
In Sacramento, we'll be working closely with our Democratic allies and building new connections with party delegates. To bring our resolution to a vote on the floor of the convention, we need 300 delegates to pledge support.
Since Prop 13 passed, we’ve faced chronic budget crises and annual cuts to education and critical public services. To finally fix the budget and fund our schools, we must reform Prop 13.
