Introduce a Resolution

Close the Loophole Resolution Action Center

Join the fight to close the Corporate Tax Loophole. Send a message to Sacramento that it’s time for large commercial property owners to pay their fair share. Local elected bodies across the state are passing resolutions calling on the state legislature to close the commercial property loophole. This reform will generate billions in local revenue for cities and counties.

Individual files:

The California Tax Reform Association has a report that shows how California's commercial property loopholes have shifted the tax burden from commercial properties to homeowners. Read the full report here, or download county-by-county data using the link below.

Individual Endorsement:

So far, over 1,300 elected officials across California have gone on record supporting this commonsense reform (Click here to see the full list).

Closing the commercial property loopholes in Prop 13 can restore billions in funding for schools and public services. I support the regular reassessment of non-residential commercial properties at current market value if protections can be maintained for small businesses, homeowners and renters.
