San Francisco Joins the Movement!

Jeffrey Pu

Evolve just won a major victory in our campaign to reform Prop. 13!  On Tuesday, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously passed our Close the Commercial Loophole Resolution, making San Francisco the 73rd locally elected body to adopt our resolution.  With San Francisco's help, we'll be able to send a powerful message to Sacramento that Californians are ready to see Prop. 13 work to protect people, not large corporations.  From all of us here, we just wanted to extend our thanks to all of our volunteers who attended the meeting, especially those who made a public comment in support of reforming Prop. 13.

When we started this campaign, Prop. 13 was still regarded as the "third rail of California politics."  But through a ton of organizing effort, we've begun to change that narrative.  Now, more news outlets than ever before are covering stories related to Prop. 13 and a PPIC poll from January reports that 59% of likely voters support reforming Prop. 13.  We’ve still got a long way to go on this campaign, and as long as we can continue to organize the way we did for San Francisco, we’ll make it all the way.
